Single-Photon Revolution: Ubicept’s Vision for Machine Perception

This week my esteemed guest is Ubicept CEO & Co-Founder Sebastian Bauer. Sebastian and I delve into Ubicept’s mission and discuss the inherent limitations of today’s computer vision systems.  We explore Ubicept’s core strength: working with Single-Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) sensors, and where Sebastian sees bottlenecks are popping up as SPAD sensors become more accessible. Finally, we discuss the transition of the computer vision industry to single-photon perception and what Sebastian thinks the biggest hurdles will be for new customers moving forward.

Want early design analysis without simulation?

Sponsored by Siemens Digital Industries Software

Traditional verification methods are failing today's complex IC designs, which require a proactive, early-stage analysis approach. A shift-left methodology addresses IP block integration challenges and the limitations of traditional simulation and ERC tools. Insight Analyzer detects hard-to-find leakage issues across power domains, enabling early analysis without full simulation. Identify inefficiencies earlier to reduce rework, improve reliability, and enhance power performance.
