Calling All Innovators: Why You Should Join The Detect and Protect Challenge

Saving the World One Open Source Project at a Time

In this week’s podcast, we take a closer look at The COVID-19 Detect & Protect Challenge. Hackster.io co-founder Adam Benzion and I chat about why The United Nations Development Programme and a multinational group of companies got together to create this challenge, the goals, prizes, and details associated with this design challenge, and most importantly, how your open source designs can help make the world a better place. Also this week, we check out new flexible sensor technology developed at MIT that is hoping to make vital sign monitoring a whole lot easier.

Overcoming Signal Integrity Challenges of 112G Connections on PCB

Sponsored by Cadence Design Systems

One big challenge with 112G SerDes is handling signal integrity (SI) issues. By the time the signal winds its way from the transmitter on one chip to packages, across traces on PCBs, through connectors or cables, and arrives at the receiver, the signal is very distorted, making it a challenge to recover the clock and data-bits of the information being transferred. Learn how to handle SI issues and ensure that data is faithfully transmitted with a very low bit error rate (BER).

Embedded Display Applications Innovation

Sponsored by Mouser Electronics and Texas Instruments

DLP technology can add a whole new dimension to your embedded design. If you considered DLP in the past, but were put off by the cost, you need to watch this episode of Chalk Talk where Amelia Dalton chats with Philippe Dollo of Texas Instruments about the DLP LightCrafter 2000 EVM. This new kit makes DLP more accessible and less expensive to design in, and could have a dramatic impact on your next embedded design.
