6 Watt Medical DC/DC Converter in 24 Pin DIP Package

IEC/EN/ES 60601‐1 / UL 62368‐1 Safety Approvals
San Jose, Calif. – January 24, 2024: TRACO POWER releases their new TIM 6 series 6 watt medical DC/DC converters designed for cost-efficiency without sacrificing performance.

The TIM 6 series provide reinforced isolation of 5000 VAC (250 VAC Working Voltage) with a low leakage current of less than 2 μA. Safety approved to ES 60601-1 and UL 62368-1 for 2 x MOPP applications and supported by both an ISO 14971 risk management file and ISO 13485 (design & production). High efficiency up to 87% and high-grade components allow the converters to perform reliably over an ambient temperature range of –40°C to +95°C (with de-rating >55°C). The series consists of 18 models with input ranges of 9-18 / -18-36 / 36-75 VDC and single or dual 5 / 12 / 15 VDC outputs. Therse converters are reliable solutions for not only medical equipment but also for demanding applications such as transportation, control & measurement or IGBT drivers. Features include:

• Compact DIP-24 plastic case
• I/O isolation 5000 VAC rated for 250 VAC working voltage
• Certification according to IEC/EN/ES 60601-1 3rd edition for 2 x MOPP
• Risk management process according to ISO 14971
• Acceptance criteria for electronic assemblies acc. to IPC-A-610 Level 3
• Low leakage current <2 μA
• Operating temperature –40°C to 95°C
• EMC compliance to IEC 60601-1-2 4th edition and EN55032 class A
• Operating up to 5000m altitude
• 5-year product warranty

The new TIM 6 models are in stock now and available through TRACO POWER’s global distribution network. Please see https://www.tracopower.com/tim6-npi for documentation and sourcing.
