Linux Professional Institute Hosts Exam Labs at Flourish and Southeast LinuxFest

(Sacramento, CA, USA: March 24, 2011) – The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world’s premier Linux certification organization (http://www.lpi.org), announced promotional exam labs for their Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) at the Flourish Conference, April 1-3 – Chicago, Illinois (http://www.flourishconf.com/) and the Southeast LinuxFest, June 10-12 – Spartanburg, South Carolina (www.southeastlinuxfest.org).

Registration for LPI exams at both events is available by emailing LPI at events_at_lpi.org. Please indicate preferred exam(s) and time slot(s) when registering for exam events. To participate in the exam labs you must obtain an LPI ID at LPI’s registration area: https://www.lpi.org/caf/Xamman/register

On the day of the exam, candidates may make payment for their exams onsite 15 minutes prior to the exam lab by cheque. Exams may also be paid for in advance by PayPal or credit card with LPI. Each exam takes approximately 90 minutes to complete.

In addition, along with their exam payment, candidates should bring their LPI ID and a government issued photo identification to the exam lab.

All three levels of LPI certification (LPIC-1, LPIC-2 and LPIC-3) will be offered at these events. The promotional price for all exams will be $99 US (regularly $173), except for LPI-301 (the LPIC-3 certification exam) which will be $219 US (regularly $260).

LPI exams will be proctored by Dru Lavigne of The BSD Certification Group. Ms. Lavigne will be offering BSD Certification exams at these events. For more information on their program please visit their website at: http://www.bsdcertification.org/

Flourish 2011 – April 1-3 – Chicago, Illinois

Flourish is a FREE conference hosted by the University of Illinois at Chicago Association for Computing Machinery (UIC-ACM) and the University of Illinois at Chicago Linux User Group (UIC-LUG). Conference speakers include Italo Vignoli (Founder of the Document Foundation/LibreOffice), Chris Palmer of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Chris McAvoy (VP of Technology at Threadless and founder of the Chicago Python Users Group) and many others.
