Artesyn Announces New Series of 25W High Density DC-DC Converters for Industrial and Rugged Applications

Artesyn Embedded Technologies today announced the new AXA 25W Series of rugged, high density 25 watt dc-dc converters that provide OEMs with a cost-effective solution for diverse low power applications in areas such as industrial automation, instrumentation, test and measurement, and telecommunications.

Encapsulated in a compact metal 1.0 x 1.0 x 0.4 inch (25.4 x 25.4 x 10.16 mm) industry-standard package with isolated baseplate, the AXA 25W series offers up to 90 percent efficiency and covers an ultra-wide 4:1 input voltage range; nominally 24 V or 48 V (9 – 36 Vdc and 18 – 75 Vdc) available in single- or dual-output variants. The proven rugged design and encapsulation of this converter family enables operation in harsh environments.

Artesyn’s AXA 25W Series consists of single 3.3 V, 5 V, 12 V and 15 V output models together with +12/-12 and +15/-15 V dual output models. These dc-dc modules can operate from minus 40 degrees Celsius up to 85 degrees Celsius.

The converters offer additional features such as overload protection, remote on/off control, input-to-output isolation voltage of 1500 Vdc, and –  on single output models – the output voltage can be trimmed by +/- 10 percent of the nominal output. All models are approved to CSA/NTRL/IEC/EN 60950-1 for IT equipment.
