MEMS Industry Group Explores Sensor Fusion for Smart IoT, Consumer Products, Health & Wellness at 2015 Sensors Expo & Conference

PITTSBURGH — (May 5, 2015) — MEMS Industry Group® (MIG), the trade association advancing micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) and sensors across global markets, today announced its line-up of speakers for “Enabling Smart Systems through Sensor Fusion,” its pre-conference symposium at the 2015 Sensors Expo & Conference.

Attendees will learn how to use sensor fusion to create “smart systems” that meet or exceed power, performance and cost requirements in heterogeneous embedded systems such as Internet of Things (IoT) devices, consumer products and health/wellness systems. They will also learn about transforming big data, enabled by sensor fusion, into actionable messages that enhance the consumer experience.

“From smart toaster ovens and smartwatches to telemedicine — sensor fusion is playing a critical role in a growing number of applications and industries,” said Karen Lightman, executive director, MEMS Industry Group. “OEMs and integrators who attend MIG’s Pre-conference Symposium at Sensors Expo & Conference will gain a competitive edge in the fast-paced adoption of MEMS and sensors. MIG’s symposium will feature industry leaders who will present case studies highlighting the benefits of sensor fusion as well as the contextual awareness that these ‘smart systems’ of hardware and software enable.”

Open Source Sensor Fusion

MIG will also update Pre-conference Symposium attendees on its work advancing MEMS/sensors standardization as well as its Accelerated Innovation Community (AIC) – the first open-source algorithm library for sensor fusion.
