Signal Hound’s Spike™ Software Now Supports RHEL 8 for BB and SM Series Spectrum Analyzers

BATTLE GROUND, Wash. — May 23, 2023 — Signal Hound is proud to announce its exclusive Spike™ Software now supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 for the BB and SM Series spectrum analyzers.

“Being able to include support for Red Hat 8 with Spike allows Signal Hound to provide important resources for our customers requiring these capabilities,” said Harrison Osbourn, Signal Hound Chief Executive Officer. “Red Hat 8 support is a necessity for engineers who need the highest level of security for critical deployments, and we are proud to be able to offer it with Spike.”

Spike is Signal Hound’s spectrum analyzer software, compatible with the entire line of Signal Hound spectrum analyzers and tracking generators. Providing full device control, a configurable spectrogram display and user interface, and a variety of analysis modes, Spike is the perfect application for powerful and affordable RF (Radio Frequency) analysis.

“We compile and test our APIs (Application Programming Interface) and our software to ensure functionality across all software platforms we advertise support for a given Signal Hound product,” said Tom Lane, Signal Hound President. “To date that includes Windows 11/10, RHEL 8, Ubuntu 22.04/20.04/18.04. It is important to note that not all product families are supported on all operating systems.”

While this added RHEL 8 OS support for Spike Version 3.8.9 is specific to the BB and SM series spectrum analyzers only, customers should contact Signal Hound if they would like to see other product families supported.
