RS Components launches 15W shielded DC power converters meeting latest UL62368-1 safety requirements

Cost-effective reliability for new quality-critical electronic designs

LONDON, UK, 13 August 2019 – RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE: ECM), a global multi-channel provider of industrial and electronic products and solutions, has announced the availability of the THL 15WI series of shielded 15W DC-DC converters from Swiss power supply specialist TRACO Power. Designed to be reliable but cost efficient, THL 15WI devices are certified to the latest IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 IT safety standards and so are suitable for applications such as mobile equipment, instrumentation, and distributed power architectures for communications and industrial electronics.

THL 15WI series power converters (https://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/power-supplies-transformers/dc-dc-converters/isolated-dc-dc-converters/?applied-dimensions=4291346151) are encapsulated in 1 x 1 x 0.4-inch metal packages with an internal EN 55032 class A EMI filter. They offer a versatile 4:1 input range at nominal input voltages of 24V (9V to 36V) or 48V (18V to 75V) DC. Output options, all precisely regulated to within ±1% accuracy, are 3.3V (3400mA max.), 5.0V (3000mA max.), 12V (1250mA max.), 15V (1000mA max.) or 24V (625mA max.) DC single output, and ±12V (±625mA max.) or ±15V (±500mA max.) DC dual output. Single-output models have a ±10% output voltage adjustment range. All devices offer 1500V DC I/O isolation.

Offering high efficiency up to 91%, THL 15WI converters can operate at full load over an operating temperature range from –40°C to +70°C, with an MTBF exceeding 1.3 million hours. Overload, overvoltage and short circuit protection are incorporated, as are remote on/off and trim functions. Optional heat sinks are available to enhance temperature performance.

The TRACO Power THL 15WI converters are shipping now from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
