Mouser Electronics and Analog Devices Deliver Expert Perspectives on Flexible Manufacturing in New eBook

April 11, 2024Mouser Electronics, Inc., the New Product Introduction (NPI) leader™ empowering innovation, announces a new eBook in collaboration with Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) focusing on how production facilities can achieve greater throughput, product quality, and cost-efficiency than ever before through a flexible manufacturing approach.

In 10 Experts on Flexible Manufacturing, subject matter experts from ADI and other technology companies discuss how today’s sensors, robotic subsystems, and AI-enabled compute units allow factories to adapt fabrication and production with more flexibility. This enables production facilities to achieve greater throughput, product quality and cost-efficiency than ever before. At the same time, improved processes and control can help facilitate a more sustainable manufacturing process that wastes less energy and materials. The eBook also highlights many of ADI’s products that help bring flexible manufacturing to life.

The EVAL-ADTF3175D-NXZ time of flight (ToF) evaluation kit, available from Mouser, showcases the ADTF3175 ToF module with ADI’s ADSD3500 image signal processor, available to order. The ADTF3175 ToF module enables industrial applications from robot manipulation to machine vision, object avoidance and object measurement.

The GMSL™ Serializer and Deserializer products, such as the MAX96717 and MAX96724, are robust and simple solutions that enable advanced sensing and perception for autonomous applications. These devices allow the connection of MIPI CSI-2 cameras and sensors to the application’s processor over a single cable, along with real-time, high-bandwidth forward data from the sensors, bidirectional control and power signals. Additional features, like reference over reverse (RoR) clocking for crystal free operation, adaptive equalization, and so on, can also be employed to simplify the system design while maintaining very high levels of data integrity.

The ADXL359 MEMS inertial measurement unit (IMU) is designed to integrate accurate, multi-axis inertial sensing into industrial systems. All necessary motion testing and calibration are part of the production process at the factory, greatly reducing system integration time.

Data security is a critical concern in flexible manufacturing, especially given its reliance on communication. The MAXQ1065 and DS28S60 DeepCover® cryptographic controller and coprocessor can play a crucial role in ensuring that only authorized entities can access sensitive data on the factory floor.
