Arkisys Hosts “Astrobee Commercial Return to Flight” Panel at AIAA SciTech Forum

Commercial space business partner to hold platform discussion session at Orlando conference

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (January 5, 2026) – Arkisys™, a provider of on-orbit services on long-duration platforms for post launch applications, announces “Astrobee Commercial Return to Flight” panel at upcoming AIAA SciTech Forum 2026 in Orlando, Florida on January 15.

The speaker panel is composed of numerous industry leading professionals who are past Astrobee users themselves, sharing their first-hand insights on how the platform can help test technology in microgravity on the International Space Station, set to take place Thursday, January 15 from 12 to 1:30pm EST at Hyatt Regency Orlando in the Regency Q Ballroom.

Session panelists include Apple Machine Learning Researcher, Dr. Somrita Banerjee, Carleton University Space Robotics Lab Director, Professor Steve Ulrich, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Postdoctoral Researcher, Dr. Scott Dorrington, Arkisys Astrobree Mission Manager, Yashvi Deliwala, and will be moderated by Arkisys Chief Systems Engineer, Dr. Rahul Rughani.

The panelists will discuss the innovation and power that the platform is quickly propelling into the space industry, driving accelerated growth in post-launch servicing.

Arkisys CEO Dave Barnhart explains, “Astrobee’s successful first commercial mission shows that we’ve moved beyond experimentation. We’re now proving how free-flying robotics can support long-duration servicing, open new industrial pathways, and serve as a foundation for the next era of on-orbit operations. This is the right moment to bring the community together to discuss how long-duration free flying robotic platforms are shaping the next generation of on-orbit services.”

Attendees of the AIAA SciTech Forum are encouraged to participate in the session as it brings an exclusive opportunity to be among the first public group to view never before seen footage of the recent first ever official Astrobee launch.
