Best-in-Class Active OR’ing MOSFET Controller from Diodes Incorporated Supports Power Supplies up to 400V

Plano, Texas – April 13th, 2017 – Extending the capability to support redundancy power systems with rail voltages up to 400V, the ZXGD3112N7 active OR’ing MOSFET controller introduced by Diodes Incorporated, builds on a successful design employed in previous 40V and 200V devices. A low turn-off threshold voltage enables very low RDS(on) MOSFETs to operate as ideal diodes, providing a highly efficient power system that is well-suited for target applications in telecoms systems, data centers and servers, where OR’ing two or more power supplies together provides redundancy.

Recognizing the trend towards using higher system voltages to raise power distribution efficiency, the ZXGD3112N7 also contributes to increased system reliability, since its use in conjunction with low RDS(on) MOSFETs allows operation at lower temperatures compared to the alternative of a Schottky-blocking diode. In addition to increasing system efficiency, its turn?off threshold voltage of <5mV improves light-load stability, while the ability to turn off in <600ns avoids reverse current flow and prevents a voltage drop on the common rail. A 5A sink current ensures a fast discharge of the gates of paralleled MOSFETs.

With its best-in-class turn-off threshold voltage and a 400V rating that is four times that of competitive OR’ing controllers, the ZXGD3112N7 excels in efficiency, reliability and stability over the entire load range.

The ZXGD3112N7 is offered in an SO-7 package and is priced at $1.50 each in 1000 piece quantities.

Electrical Connectors for Hermetically Sealed Applications
Sponsored by Mouser Electronics and Bel
Many hermetic chambers today require electrical pathways to provide internal equipment with power, data or signals, or to receive data and signals from equipment within the chamber. In this episode of Chalk Talk, Amelia Dalton and Brad Taras from Cinch Connectivity Solutions explore the role that seals and connectors play in the performance of hermetic chambers. They examine the methodologies to determine hermetic seal leaks, the benefits of epoxy hermetic seals, and how Cinch Connectivity’s epoxy-based seals and hermetic connectors can add value to your next design.
