Exar Targets High Definition Video Surveillance with HDCVI Chipset

Fremont, CA – March 23, 2016 – Exar Corporation (NYSE: EXAR), a leading supplier of analog mixed-signal products serving the industrial, high-end consumer and infrastructure markets, announces a High Definition Composite Video Interface (HDCVI) chipset designed to deliver HD video over 500 meters on existing coaxial cable infrastructure. The XR5P900 http://www.exar.com/common/content/default.aspx?id=10608&utm_source=PR&utm_medium=media&utm_campaign=HDCVIchipset&utm_content=xr5p900 single-channel encoder and the XR5P920http://www.exar.com/common/content/default.aspx?id=10609&utm_source=PR&utm_medium=media&utm_campaign=HDCVIchipset&utm_content=xr5p920four-channel decoder are fully compatible with other HDCVI products on the market as well as the HDCVI 2.0 standard administered by the HDcctv Alliance. With the launch of Exar’s HDCVI chipset, video surveillance equipment design engineers now have a clear choice for cost-effective HD video components that adhere to a global open standard and are available from multiple suppliers.

The XR5P900 HDCVI single channel encoder delivers uncompressed 1080p HD video up to 30 frames/second and 720p HD video up to 60 frames/second as well as audio and control data over the same coaxial cable. The device also supports standard-definition video in NTSC or PAL formats for compatibility with existing systems. Video surveillance camera manufacturers can easily integrate the XR5P900 with an image signal processor or image sensor with a BT.1120 or BT.656 interface.

The four-channel HDCVI decoder, XR5P920, receives video, audio and control data from up to four HDCVI cameras then decodes and digitizes the data for subsequent display, compression or transmission. The XR5P920 is also capable of receiving 960H or D1 CCTV inputs making the device an ideal solution for mixed standard-definition and high-definition systems or selective HD upgrades to existing CCTV installations.
Production samples of the XR5P900 and XR5P920 are available. For more information, visit the XR5P900 and the XR5P920 pages.

Summary of features:

•       1080p30, 1080p25, 720p60, 720p50, 720p30, 720p25 high-definition video formats
•       PAL, NTSC standard-definition video formats
•       Video, audio and control data transmission over 500m RG-59 coaxial cable

Electrical Connectors for Hermetically Sealed Applications
Sponsored by Mouser Electronics and Bel
Many hermetic chambers today require electrical pathways to provide internal equipment with power, data or signals, or to receive data and signals from equipment within the chamber. In this episode of Chalk Talk, Amelia Dalton and Brad Taras from Cinch Connectivity Solutions explore the role that seals and connectors play in the performance of hermetic chambers. They examine the methodologies to determine hermetic seal leaks, the benefits of epoxy hermetic seals, and how Cinch Connectivity’s epoxy-based seals and hermetic connectors can add value to your next design.
