“Independent market surveys show that leading electronic design companies that have formally implemented workflows around data management, ECAD/MCAD integration, PCB/FPGA co-design or design re-use have gained significant competitive advantages,” says Frank Krämer, Technical Marketing Director EMEA for Altium. “Altium Designer lets us provide a unified tool to our customers, allowing them to implement out of the box solutions in those areas and let them achieve their goals more successfully.”

In a nutshell, electronics development with Altium means:

Integrated design environment

Altium Designer unifies the separate processes of electronics product development in a single application (schematic capture, PCB, FPGA design, embedded software).

Unique software delivery model

Altium Subscription customers benefit from continuous software and content updates. This unique model delivers new products and improvements directly and without delay to the user.

Smart data management with Altium Vault technology

This feature comprises component and lifecycle management including safe release processes for all production-related data via automated tests, reducing errors and costs associated with incorrectly generated / transmitted data or obsolete components.

Access to a growing range of design resources

The Altium Content Store <http://contentstore.live.altium.com/>  provides easy access to Altium Designer plug-ins, reference designs, design templates, high-quality PCB design elements (+100,000 and counting) from numerous content partners including Altera, Analog Devices, Atmel, FTDI, Lattice, Linx, Maxim, Microchip, Microsemi, NXP, National Semiconductor, Texas Instruments, ST, Würth Elektronik and Xilinx, plus real-time supply chain information such as supplier, price and availability.
