Elliptic Technologies and ViXS Systems Collaborate to Secure Streaming of HD Video and Audio Content in Entertainment Devices

September 5, 2012 – Ottawa, Canada and Toronto, Canada: Elliptic Technologies, a leading supplier of content protection software and security semiconductor IP, has partnered with ViXS Systems, a leading innovator and provider of multimedia solutions, to integrate Elliptic’s tVault HDCP 2.1 content protection technology with ViXS’ XCode® 4200 Series of media processors to secure premium content streaming on connected devices.

The market is experiencing a huge growth in High Definition (HD) capable connected devices, along with multi-screen Over the Top (OTT) Pay TV and other services and applications. In an increasingly competitive market for the digital consumer, OEMs, network operators and service providers are relying on sophisticated security capabilities to be built into their devices to allow for the seamless deployment of a multitude of applications, including streaming premium video content and secure sharing among connected devices.

Elliptic’s tVault HDCP 2.1 security solution is based on the latest specification HDCP IIA Revision 2.1 and itincorporates the stringent robustness requirements mandated by the Digital Content Protection (DCP) licensing authority. The solution uses trusted execution environments compliant with GlobalPlatform specifications and integrates seamlessly within frameworks such as ARM TrustZone™. tVault HDCP can act as a transmitter, receiver or repeater device, runs efficiently in very limited resource environments and is available on Android and other embedded platforms.
