Silicon Designs Announces 25% Price Reduction on all ±5 g MEMS Capacitive LCC/JLCC Chips

July 24, 2012 – Kirkland, Washington, USA – Silicon Designs, Inc.(www.SiliconDesigns.com), a global industry leader in the design and manufacture of highly rugged industrial-grade MEMS capacitive accelerometer chips and modules, has announced a special price reduction on all ±5 g range versions of its Model 1010, 1210 and 1221 low-cost LCC and JLCC industrial-grade MEMS capacitive accelerometer chips, with product quantities available for immediate customer shipment. This special incentive is available to new and existing Silicon Designs customers thru December 31, 2012, and cannot be combined with any other offer or discount (excluding GSA).

Silicon Designs LCC and JLCC accelerometer chips are rugged, easy-to use sensors for measuring shock and vibration. The low-cost, industrial grade Models 1010, 1210, and 1221 have low-impedance outputs and are ideally suited for zero-to-medium frequency instrumentation applications. Each miniature, hermetically sealed package combines a MEMS capacitive sensing element, custom integrated circuit, and an integral sensing amplifier.  The Model 1010 includes a sigma-delta A/D converter, while the Model 1210 and Model 1221 offer an integral sensing amplifier and differential output stage. All three models are relatively insensitive to temperature changes and gradients.  Each device is marked with a serial number on its bottom surface for traceability.  An optional calibration test sheet is also available which lists the measured bias, scale factor, linearity, operating current and frequency response.

The Model 1010 produces a digital pulse train in which the density of pulses (number of pulses per second) is proportional to applied acceleration.  Models 1210 and 1221 produce two analog output voltages which vary with acceleration. The outputs can be used either in differential or single ended mode referenced to +2.5 volts. Custom specifications are also available. About Silicon Designs, Inc.

Silicon Designs (www.silicondesigns.com) was founded in 1983, with the goal of improving the accepted design standard for MEMS capacitive accelerometers.  At that time, industrial-grade accelerometers on the market were bulky, highly fragile and costly.  The engineering team at Silicon Designs listened to the needs of customers who required more compact, sensitive, rugged and reasonably priced accelerometer modules and chips that also offered higher performance.  Resultant product lines were designed and built to surpass customer expectations. The company has grown steadily over the years, though its core competency remains accelerometers, with the business philosophy of “Make it better, stronger, smaller and less expensive” maintained to this day.

Want early design analysis without simulation?

Sponsored by Siemens Digital Industries Software

Traditional verification methods are failing today's complex IC designs, which require a proactive, early-stage analysis approach. A shift-left methodology addresses IP block integration challenges and the limitations of traditional simulation and ERC tools. Insight Analyzer detects hard-to-find leakage issues across power domains, enabling early analysis without full simulation. Identify inefficiencies earlier to reduce rework, improve reliability, and enhance power performance.
