Atollic TrueSTUDIO adds support for NXP microcontrollers

Jonkoping, Sweden, 21st February 2012 – Atollic® today announced the addition of target support for NXP’s family of ARM Cortex™-M0 and Cortex-M3-based microcontrollers in its award-winning Atollic TrueSTUDIO® for ARM® C/C++ development environment.

“Atollic continues to deliver full-featured development tools to serve the needs of professional embedded engineers,” says Gene Carter, International Product Manager, Business Line Microcontrollers, NXP Semiconductors. “Their highly integrated tools complement the features in our LPC1000 microcontroller product range, and our close working relationship with them secures the early addition of target support as new devices become available.”

“By adding NXP support in Atollic TrueSTUDIO, we now support all major ARM-based microcontroller manufacturers in market” says Magnus Unemyr, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Atollic AB. “We are delighted to work closely with NXP to offer their customers a powerful development and testing tool solution which delivers benefit to their end-customers and their applications.”

The new version of Atollic TrueSTUDIO (v3.0) is based on the latest ECLIPSE™ platform (Indigo), and provides a large number of improvements in the underlying IDE framework.

Atollic have improved the user experience, and the new TrueSTUDIO v3.0 has a redesigned and more intuitive GUI that removes some of the Eclipse interface peculiarities that often confused new users with experience from traditional embedded C/C++ development tools.

Other new features of TrueSTUDIO v3.0 includes graphical charts for execution time analysis using statistical profiling, and improved real-time interrupt tracing, enabled by the ARM Serial Wire Viewer (SWV) interface.

Furthermore, TrueSTUDIO v3.0 includes the latest version of the GNU C/C++ toolchain for ARM, comprising improved versions of the GNU compiler and runtime libraries, debugger and other command line utilities.

In addition to the new NXP support, other recent additions in terms of microcontroller target support include Infineon® XMC4000 (Cortex-M4) and Energy® Micro EFM32 (Cortex-M3). A full list of supported devices can be found here: http://www.atollic.com/index.php/targets

The new Atollic TrueSTUDIO v3.0 also includes updated versions of its optional code-analysis and test-automation add-on products:

  • Atollic TrueINSPECTOR® (static source code analysis with MISRA®-C compliance checking and code metrics including code complexity measurements)
  • Atollic TrueANALYZER® (in-target test quality measurement using MC/DC-level coverage using dynamic execution flow analysis)
  • Atollic TrueVERIFIER® (embedded test automation using auto-generated and auto-executed unit test suites in the target board)

The updated Atollic TrueINSPECTOR, TrueANALYZER and TrueVERIFIER products are now extended to work with all ARM targets. These optional add-on products integrate seamlessly into Atollic TrueSTUDIO v3.0, offering a truly unified environment for embedded development and testing.

Deliveries of the new TrueSTUDIO v3.0 will start during the Embedded World 2012 exhibition in Nuremberg (Germany), Feb 28th – March 1st 2012. Atollic can be found in Hall 4, stand 108 co-exhibiting with their German distribution partner Logic Technology.

Achieve Greater Design Flexibility and Reduce Costs with Chiplets

Sponsored by Keysight

Chiplets are a new way to build a system-on-chips (SoCs) to improve yields and reduce costs. It partitions the chip into discrete elements and connects them with a standardized interface, enabling designers to meet performance, efficiency, power, size, and cost challenges in the 5 / 6G, artificial intelligence (AI), and virtual reality (VR) era. This white paper will discuss the shift to chiplet adoption and Keysight EDA's implementation of the communication standard (UCIe) into the Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS).
