Advantech-DLoG TREK-753 Mobile Data Terminal: Feature-Packed, Rugged Operation in a Friendly Design

Irvine, California, October 06, 2011 – Advantech-DLoG, a leading mobile computing platform provider, is pleased to announce the availability of TREK-753, a ruggedly designed mobile data terminal, suitable for in-vehicle applications in the harshest environments. The TREK-753 is feature-rich and ruggedized, with a friendly-to-use design; it can improve safety, security and efficiency in a variety of in-vehicle, vertical markets.

Supports a Variety of On-road Vehicles

TREK-753 is built tough. It has an EN 60721-3-5 certification, and meets military standards for vibration and shock. This ruggedness allows TREK-753 to boldly go where others dare not, opening a wide range of vertical market applications. TREK-753 is suitable for long haul truck, fuel truck, ambulance, fire truck, and as an affordable solution to heavy duty vehicle applications. TREK-753 is designed to operate flawlessly in transient power conditions. It supports 12V/24V car power systems, operating from 6 ~ 36V, and it is compliant with ISO7637-2 and SAE J1113. With power-on/power-off delay features which are software configurable, TREK holds its own in unstable power conditions. And TREK-753 can operate in the temperature extremes found in vehicle environments, at a range from -30°C ~ 60°C.

TREK-753—Loaded with New Features

Advantech-DLoG’s TREK-753 is a new generation, all-in-one 7” mobile data terminal with touchscreen. Its compact and rugged industrial design is perfect for in-vehicle use where space, vibration, transient power, and temperature fluctuations will damage most computer equipment. TREK-753, the next generation of the award-winning TREK mobile data terminal family, features an Intel® Atom™ Z510PT/Z520PT processor, increased memory, the addition of an analog video input port, GbE, and rich I/O ports (additional COM port, audio, CAN bus, and J1708). With an optional I/O cover, it is IP54 compliant. TREK-753 has also been re-engineered to optimize internal space, gained by its full-flat panel touchscreen; and it has moved the CF/SD/SIM card slot to make it externally accessible, allowing easy access without having to open the unit. TREK-753 supports built-in RF modules, such as GPS with an AGPS feature, GPRS/CDMA/HSDPA, WLAN 802.11a/b/g/n & Bluetooth. Paired with navigation, statistical and monitoring software, it meets fleet management requirements, saves fuel, aids dispatchers and helps resource arrangement.

Enhanced Security Enables Driver Behavior Management!

The edition of a video input port allows TREK-753 to run applications that improve safety and security for vehicle fleets. A camera can be attached as a rear vehicle monitor, which will reduce blind spots and assist drivers as they make turns and back up large vehicles. In truck fleets video technology can also be deployed to monitor the driver. Using the J1939 protocol and CAN Bus technology, vehicle information (engine status, fuel level, fan, sensors, etc) is available to drivers from the dashboard. They are better informed about vehicle status and can take action as needed, preventing costly damage and downtime. Data captured by TREK-753 can be seamlessly sent back to central dispatch offices, keeping management in the know.

TREK-753 is available now. For more information about TREK-753 or other fleet management solutions, please contact Advantech-DLoG directly or visit our website: www.advantech-dlog.com.
