Kilopass Expands Embedded Non-Volatile Memory Offering To GLOBAL FOUNDRIES’ 0.13um G Process

Santa Clara, Calif. –– August 30, 2011 –– Kilopass Technology Inc., a leading provider of logic non-volatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP) and a GLOBALSOLUTIONS Partner, today announced that its XPM™ embedded one-time programmable (OTP) NVM technology has completed 1000 hours of JEDEC standard reliability testing for high temperature operating life (HTOL) and high temperature storage life (HTSL) on 3 lots for GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ 0.13um generic process technology. Kilopass’ logic-based XPM OTP technology requires no added cost for integration with standard logic processes. Due to the portability of its antifuse technology, XPM is the NVM of choice for IC companies interested in migrating their designs to GLOBALFOUNDRIES.

“We are pleased that Kilopass is a valuable member of our GLOBALSOLUTIONS partner ecosystem,” said Dave Steer, Director of IP Business Development at GLOBALFOUNDRIES.  “We’ve collaborated successfully to support our customers’ specific NVM requirements at 0.13um G. It is crucial that we partner with IP vendors such as Kilopass that can deliver cost effective and differentiated enabling products in order to satisfy our customers’ needs for reliable NVM solutions.”

Kilopass embedded NVM is implemented in standard CMOS without any additional backend process steps. It is designed for manufacturability and mass production and uses standard foundry design rules and manufacturing process controls. Kilopass supports in-system programming without process or mask modifications, keeping manufacturing costs low. Over 2 billion units have shipped with Kilopass’ antifuse technology from 180nm to 40nm in over 30 processes.

“We are pleased to work with GLOBALFOUNDRIES to enable embedded NVM solutions in their fabs,” said Kilopass CEO Charlie Cheng. “Our customers are seeking embedded NVM solutions to meet their multi-foundry strategies and we have successfully collaborated with GLOBALFOUNDRIES to deliver proven, reliable antifuse NVM technology that can meet their fast time to market and low cost goals. We will continue to collaborate with GLOBALFOUNDRIES to enable new process technologies to meet the market demand.”

Kilopass’s XPM solutions for GLOBALFOUNDRIES 0.13um G related processes are available for licensing now.   GLOBALFOUNDRIES is accepting designs for immediate manufacturing. For more information, contact info@kilopass.com.

Want early design analysis without simulation?

Sponsored by Siemens Digital Industries Software

Traditional verification methods are failing today's complex IC designs, which require a proactive, early-stage analysis approach. A shift-left methodology addresses IP block integration challenges and the limitations of traditional simulation and ERC tools. Insight Analyzer detects hard-to-find leakage issues across power domains, enabling early analysis without full simulation. Identify inefficiencies earlier to reduce rework, improve reliability, and enhance power performance.
