Mobileye Adopts Key Synopsys Automotive Functional Safety Verification Solution to Enable ISO 26262 Compliance of its Next-Generation ADAS SoCs

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Nov. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Synopsys, Inc. (Nasdaq: SNPS) today announced that Mobileye N.V. has selected Synopsys’ Z01X™ functional safety verification solution to meet ISO 26262 automotive safety compliance for Mobileye’s next generation of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) SoCs. Z01X’s industry-leading, high-performance fault simulation enables Mobileye to quickly perform practical fault injection flows to attain the most stringent ISO 26262 ASIL D certification for their advanced automotive SoCs.

“Our fourth-generation product, EyeQ4, is an extremely high performance and complex SoC, that must meet the stringent demands of the ISO 26262 functional safety standard,” said Elchanan Rushinek, senior vice president of engineering, Mobileye N.V. “Mobileye employed the Z01X solution to allow us to reach our safety-related fault injection campaign goals in less time than competing software tools.”

The Synopsys Z01X fault simulation solution is the result of 10 years of collaboration with leading automotive companies in fault injection testing. The Z01X solution’s industry-leading performance is the direct result of its state-of-the-art concurrent fault simulation algorithm. This algorithm enables thousands of faults to be simulated concurrently on each available processor, for significant speed up of the verification process. Additionally, the Z01X solution supports all permanent and transient fault models required by the ISO 26262 automotive functional safety standard.

“Synopsys has developed a comprehensive functional safety verification solution by closely collaborating with automotive SoC market-makers for their next-generation SoCs,” said Debashis Chowdhury, vice president of engineering in the Verification Group at Synopsys. “Through our continued R&D collaboration, we address the increasingly stringent functional safety requirements for the growing complexity of automotive SoCs.”
