Renesas Electronics Europe and MicroConsult Announce Training Collaboration for the Renesas SynergyTM Platform

Düsseldorf & Munich, April 12, 2016 – Renesas Electronics Europe, a premier supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, and MicroConsult GmbH today announced their agreement to collaborate on the provision of customer training courses for the revolutionary Renesas SynergyTM Platform.

Renesas Synergy is a complete and qualified platform with fully integrated software, a scalable family of microcontrollers (MCUs), and unified development tools to speed embedded system developers’ time to market as they innovate new products for IoT device applications. At the heart of the Synergy Platform is the Synergy Software Package (SSP) which is qualified, supported, warranted and maintained by Renesas. The SSP comprises a real-time operating system (RTOS), extensive middleware, communication stacks, application frameworks, graphics and security libraries, hardware abstraction layer drivers and more – all accessible through a robust application programming interface (API) to free customers from struggling with lower level details. Developers can start software development immediately at the API level, so they can focus on differentiating their own product in the marketplace instead of doing repetitive, non-differentiating work. Accordingly, Renesas and MicroConsult recognise the need to ensure that developers master the new techniques they will need to get the best out of all the elements of the Synergy Platform, and especially the extensive SSP.

MicroConsult will be offering off-the-shelf three-day training courses, as well as customised training on request. With at least 50 percent of the time spent hands-on, the standard training course will focus on building a quick understanding of the complete Synergy Platform as well as progressing into more depth on such topics as the RTOS, networking and USB communication stacks, creation of graphics and libraries, and taking advantage of application frameworks. By the end of the three-day course, participants will be able to fully utilise all the elements of the Synergy Platform and be fully prepared to develop their own application on the Synergy Starter Kit, SK-S7G2, which all attendees will receive upon completion.

Andy Harding, Director of Core Marketing at Renesas Electronics Europe, says: “Renesas is delighted that we can partner with a market leader to deliver this training for customers and distributors alike. We believe it will be one more step towards reducing the burden on development engineers when embarking on new embedded designs and enable them to shave even more time off their development work.”

Remo Markgraf, Senior Management Consultant at MicroConsult, states: “MicroConsult is enthusiastic about supporting our customers in boosting their key capability in developing new applications. The Synergy Platform training concept focuses on quickly mastering technology challenges, especially in the area of Industry 4.0 and IoT, by fully leveraging the APIs in the SSP.”

Synergy Platform training courses will run every two months initially, starting in May 2016. Those interested in booking a place on the next available course can do so at www.microconsult.de.
