Conexant Spotlights AudioSmart 2.0 Software at Intel Developer Forum 2015

August 18, 2015  — SAN FRANCISCO — Conexant Systems, Inc., an audio and imaging innovation leader, will be on hand at theIntel Developer Forum (IDF) this week from August 18-20 to highlight its AudioSmart 2.0 software for tablets, portable and all-in-one computers. Conexant’s AudioSmart 2.0 solutions improve the audio experience in noisy, real-world conditions, employing advanced noise reduction technology for significantly enhanced Cortana performance and a more natural voice collaboration experience.“We’re committed to enhancing consumer expectations for audio quality on the devices they use every day”

Held at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco, IDF15 – Intel’s premier event – brings together developers and their champions. Conexant has been invited by Intel to participate in a discussion during the User Experience (UEX) track sessions, which will take place on Wednesday, August 19th, from 1:15-2:15PM in Moscone Center room #2006. Trausti Thormundsson, Audio CTO for Conexant, will discuss the advantages of using AudioSmart 2.0 software together with high-quality microphone and speaker implementations to enable a natural user experience over mobile and computing platforms. Thormundsson will discuss how to make a digital personal assistant work well from across a noisy room and how to turn an ordinary laptop into an enterprise-class speakerphone appliance. In addition, Thormundsson will demonstrate Conexant’s AudioSmart 2.0 far-field speech recognition input preprocessing software running on Windows 10 with Cortana. He will be joined by industry executives from companies including Intel and Microsoft.

Speech-enabled digital personal assistants and VoIP communications on tablets and portable computers continue to grow in popularity. With its AudioSmart 2.0 solutions, Conexant has conquered the main issue that plagues these forms of communication: background noise. Conexant’s AudioSmart software addresses this challenge with advanced background noise reduction and echo cancellation, which enable crystal clear audio and natural interaction with both the machine (e.g., Cortana) and other VoIP call participants. Conexant’s software dramatically improves Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) performance, enabling clear voice communication and accurate speech control up to five meters away from the target device. Additionally, unlike competing technologies, Conexant’s proprietary AudioSmart 2.0 noise suppression algorithms reduce interference while allowing speech and noise to arrive at any angle relative to the microphones. This makes it possible to hold a VoIP call or issue speech commands from anywhere in the room, no matter where the device is resting.

“We’re committed to enhancing consumer expectations for audio quality on the devices they use every day,” noted Saleel Awsare, Conexant vice president and general manager. “Our AudioSmart solutions make voice communication clearer, speech recognition more accurate, and audio playback louder – across the entire PC and tablet ecosystem. We are proud to have been invited by Intel to participate in a discussion focused on the user experience, and look forward to collaborating with other industry experts and thought leaders.”

IDF15 attendees are encouraged to attend the User Experience (UEX) track session on August 19th, in Moscone Center Room # 2006, from 1:15-2:15PM.
