Sensoria Partners With Athletes for Charity on Clothing Drive for Disadvantaged Youth in Haiti

SAN DIEGO, May 20, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Health and Fitness Expo — Sensoria, Inc., a leading developer of IoE (Internet of Everyone) wearable solutions, today announces a partnership with Athletes for Charity to host a clothing drive for disadvantaged youth at the Rock’n’Roll San Diego Marathon and Health and Fitness Expo on May 29-30th.

Runners will be able to take advantage of a Free Running Form assessment provided by Sensoria’s kinesiologist. The evaluation will provide them with information about foot landing tendencies, cadence, pace and how different shoes may affect performance and running form.

To support this clothing drive, runners participating in the Rock’n’Roll San Diego Marathon can bring new clothing items for sport and fitness activities to Sensoria’s booth (#226) at the Health and Fitness Expo taking place on May 29 and 30 in San Diego. Garments must be new, unworn and bearing the original tags and labels.

In return, the first 10 individuals making donations will receive a brand new pair of the Sensoria award-winning smart socks with the Sensoria electronic anklet, a $199 value. In addition, the following 100 individuals making donations will receive a new pair of Sensoria Fitness smart socks. All other donors will receive a discount of $30 on the Sensoria Fitness Socks bundle (MSRP $199).

The socks are infused with Sensoria’s proprietary, soft textile pressure sensors and paired with the Sensoria Bluetooth anklet to help runners improve not only how far and how fast, but how well they run.

“At Sensoria we believe that smart garments can have a positive impact and improve lives. The entire team at Sensoria is excited and proud to support Athletes for Charity and its important mission of bringing positive change to disadvantaged youths,” says Sensoria Marketing Manager Paolo Sciarra.

People wearing the smart socks will have the opportunity to learn about their running form at the Sensoria booth. The free clinic will include an evaluation of foot landing, cadence, and foot contact time on the ground.

“Athletes for Charity has an established record of teaming up with professional athletes to support our future generation. These athletes exemplify their leadership in our communities through their dedication and generosity,” says Matt Stankiewicz of Athletes for Charity. “We are proud to be partnering with Sensoria for the San Diego Rock’n’Roll Marathon. The sporting apparel collected by Sensoria during the event will go directly to support our initiatives with the youth in Haiti through partnerships with the Haitian Sports Foundation and the YMCA
d’Haiti.”

People interested in participating in the free clinic and donating sports apparel should drop it off on May 29th and 30th at the Sensoria booth number 226 at the Health and Fitness Expo of the Rock’n’Roll San Diego marathon.
