The interactive panel session, moderated by Tom Kerber, Director of Research for Home Controls & Energy at Parks Associates, examines efforts to achieve interoperability and its importance in realizing the vision of the connected home. LeBlanc will specifically address the breadth of consumer interest in the smart home, which crosses multiple categories, and how the strength of that demand relies on all products working seamlessly together.

- Approximately two-thirds of U.S. broadband households are unfamiliar with smart home products or services.
- Nearly 70% of U.S. broadband households are unfamiliar with where to buy smart home products.
- Sales of smart home devices exceeded 20 million units by the end of 2014 and will increase to 36 million units by 2017.
