STM32 Microcontroller from STMicroelectronics Powers Intuitive August Smart Lock System

Geneva, October 30, 2014 – STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications and a leading contributor of components for the Internet of Things (IoT), has announced that its STM32 microcontroller is powering the August Smart Lock home-access control system. 

The high performance and power efficiency of the embedded STM32 microcontroller gives August Smart Lock users access to their home’s door lock from a smartphone or computer – no keys needed. In addition to providing the 32-bit performance and processing capacity required for secure signal processing, the STM32 microcontroller delivers real-time responsiveness and exceptional power efficiency.
