CUI Expands DIN Rail Dc-Dc Converter Line up to 600 W

TUALATIN, Ore. – August 12, 2014 – CUI Inc announced the expansion of their DIN rail dc-dc product line with the addition of over 90 new high wattage models ranging from 50~600 W.  The VHK and VFK DIN families are high efficiency isolated dc-dc converters packaged in a rugged aluminum case that feature an ultra-wide 4:1 input.  With efficiencies as high as 92% and an integrated aluminum heat sink, the units are able to operate at higher temperatures with a minimal amount of air flow.  They have been designed for applications where the convenience of DIN rail mounting is required, such as industrial equipment, mobile equipment, and telecom base stations.

Users can select from input voltages of 9~36 Vdc or 18~75 Vdc for 50~400 W models and 18~36 Vdc or 36~75 Vdc for 600 W models.  Output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, 24, 28, 32, or 48 Vdc are available depending on the series. Standard operating temperature range is -40~85°C, with the 50 W model operating up to 60°C under convection-cooled conditions.

Safety features of the VHK and VFK DIN series include over current, over temperature, input transient, and short circuit protections. Additional features include output trim, remote sense and remote on/off control. For applications that require power above 600 W, the VFK600-DIN series comes standard with load share capability.

The VHK DIN family ranging from 50~200 W measures 107.5 x 101.8 x 52.6 mm (4.23 x 4.01 x 2.07 in) while the VFK DIN family ranging from 400~600 W measures 199.0 x 127.0 x 53.6 mm (7.83 x 5.00 x 2.11 in).  All electrical connections are easily accessible via screw terminals.

The VHK and VFK DIN families are available now through distribution starting at $143 for 50 pieces.  Please contact CUI for volume pricing.
