Value of Power Modules

Today, the cool kids aren’t using discrete components for power anymore.  Nope.  They’re using power modules.  In this episode of Chalk TalkHD Amelia chats with Rich Nowakowski and Kevin Beals (Texas Instruments) about power modules, and why they’re the best solution for a wide range of design projects.

  1. I value these module devices and this is an excellent presentation. In fact, I do power designs with even a smaller and lower cost solution than TI modules from Enpirion (www.Enpirion.com) which they call PowerSoC. Enpirion DC/DC PowerSoC are fully integrated as well but even lower cost than the TI example. I used their 6A device which is lower cost than the TPS(can’t remember the exact price) discrete solution thus not even a premium or tradeoff.”
