TARGET 3001! Users Now Have Access to Ultra Librarian—The World’s Largest CAD Part Database

Rochester, NY (August 21, 2018) – EMA Design Automation® (www.ema-eda.com), a full-service provider and innovator of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) solutions, today announced that its Ultra Librarian electronic part library of symbols, footprints, and 3D models is now available to PCB designers using the TARGET 3001! design suite.  “TARGET 3001! users can now download verified models from Ultra Librarian, saving them time and eliminating errors that can occur when manually building part models,” said Manny Marcano, president and CEO of EMA.  “This is especially true with more complex components, large components, or components that use non-typical pin patterns.”

The TARGET 3001! design suite combines schematic capture, simulation, PCB layout, auto routing, 3D view, and front panel design.  PCB projects can be designed on boards or on 3D bodies (MID), a technique not common in the industry, and this is supported by a single user interface for all features.  A complete TARGET 3001! project is all stored in a single file containing all needed information.  With Ultra Librarian, manufacturer part numbers or distributor order numbers are shown on the Bill of Materials (BoM).  Subsequent processes of manufacturing, assembly, or documentation/information are eased significantly, and the calculation of board production cost and the ordering with PCB houses are both simple processes and time efficient.

“It is of utmost importance to our TARGET 3001! users that they can rely on the accuracy of the parts they build into their designs,” said Harald Friedrich, CEO and owner of TARGET 3001!.  “Ultra Librarian’s models are created based on IPC and manufacturers’ specifications and go through more than 30 checks during creation by the Ultra Librarian team and/or component manufacturers.  The Ultra Librarian verified 3D models are more accurate than generic 3D models, which is very important especially when designing products with tight space requirements.”

Enabling IoT with DECT NR+, the Non-Cellular 5G Standard
In the ever-expanding IoT market, there is a growing need for private, low cost networks. In this episode of Chalk Talk, Amelia Dalton and Heidi Sollie from Nordic Semiconductor explore the details of DECT NR+, the world’s first non-cellular 5G technology standard. They investigate how this self-healing, decentralized, autonomous mesh network can help solve a variety of IoT connectivity issues and how Nordic is helping designers take advantage of DECT NR+ with their nRF91 System-in-Package family.
