SEGGER Partners with Razorcat on Automated Embedded-Software Testing

SEGGER Microcontroller GmbH and Razorcat Development GmbH are partnering to further advance embedded-software testing solutions as well as streamline support and integration of SEGGER software-development tools with Razorcat’s TESSY test automation tool.

Monheim am Rhein, Germany — March 9, 2026 — TESSY is a widely used unit and integration testing tool for embedded software, particularly for safety-related projects. It automates test creation and test cycles; aids test organization and management; and supports a wide range of microcontrollers, compilers, and debuggers.

SEGGER’s software-development tools are well integrated with TESSY. SEGGER Embedded Studio is a full-fledged IDE for embedded-software project management and development. It includes the SEGGER Toolchain, which enables creation of highly optimized firmware as well as direct integration of SEGGER’s J-Link debug probes for debugging and testing on a target. Also included is a core simulator for fast and efficient testing, without the need for hardware.

TESSY supports Embedded Studio projects by allowing users to generate tests based on their existing development setups. Tests are executed in TESSY with J-Run or emSim in order to gather results, and TESSY can automatically start a debug session in Embedded Studio to enable users to analyze failing tests.

With the new partnership, SEGGER and Razorcat build on a well-established foundation and further extend integration, improve the user experience, and provide users with the technical support needed to ensure project success.
