RS Components provides essential engineering support to young superbike team at leading UK championships through its RS PRO range of mechanical tools

RS’ sponsorship of GR MotoSport team at Bennetts British Superbikes championships this week brings the highest international safety standards on engineering equipment to safeguard riders

LONDON, UK, 13 October 2020 – RS Components (RS), a trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE: ECM), a global omni-channel solutions partner for industrial customers and suppliers, has announced its sponsorship of the GR MotoSport (https://grmotosport.co.uk/) team at this week’s Bennetts British Superbikes (BSB) (https://www.britishsuperbike.com/) championships, which takes place at Brands Hatch circuit from 16-18 October 2020. As an official sponsor partner, RS has provided the team with a range of RS PRO tools to support the riders’ engineering requirements throughout the event.

Now in its 25th year of racing, GR MotoSport is a British team that supports young riders in their quest to achieve title glory. The team last claimed victory at the 2016 BSB championships, which have been a mainstay of superbike road racing in the UK since 1988.

By way of recognising this partnership and sharing the experience with customers and superbike fans, RS has launched a prize draw offering the chance to win an RS PRO tool chest, socket-set and a set of sliders signed by 17-year-old GR MotoSport rider Storm ‘The Predator’ Stacey. To qualify for the draw, customers must simply purchase an RS PRO tool at any of the 16 RS Local branches around the UK before Friday 16 October 2020.

Superbike fans can also join Storm in an interactive webinar along with GR MotoSport founder Brent Gladwin, plus a member of the team’s engineering crew, when there will be the opportunity to find out what goes into creating a winning team. The session will be held at 2pm BST on Thursday 15 October. To sign up, go to https://uk.rs-online.com/web/generalDisplay.html?id=GR-MotoSport.

In the challenging world of racing and modified production motorcycles, reliable quality tools are a must. When dealing with bikes that are capable of speeds over 200mph within a matter of seconds, safety is everything to prevent risk to human lives. RS PRO provides mechanical engineers with a choice of over 60,000 quality products and tools they can trust. All RS PRO tools are audited, inspected and tested to rigorous international quality standards by leading engineers prior to receiving the RS PRO seal of approval.
