RS Components launches exclusive range of popular pre-wired connectors

Single-ended cable assemblies allow easy ordering and connection with reduced lead times

LONDON, UK, 19 March 2019 – RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE: ECM), a global multi-channel provider of industrial and electronic products and solutions, has introduced a new range of pre-wired, single-end-terminated cable assemblies ( https://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/connectors/power-connectors/heavy-duty-power-connector-kits/?applied-dimensions=4293626763,4294423028,4294430581 ) based on HARTING’s popular Han series of connector components. The assemblies use a range of commonly used cable and connector combinations to provide a quick and easy way of addressing many basic cabling requirements. They are available exclusively from RS Components.

By eliminating the need for customers to assemble their own connectors from basic components, the new pre-wired cable assemblies reduce not only the complexity of the ordering process but also lead times and labour, allowing faster connection to end user equipment. They also allow customers to reduce the level of cable inventory held on site.

The new pre-wired connector range comprises 6-way (plus earth) and 10-way (plus earth) single-ended assemblies with either 1.5 mm2 or 2.5 mm2 wire gauge, available with 1m, 3m or 5m lengths of cable ready for direct wiring into end user equipment. HARTING Han 6B and 10B series hoods, 6E and 10E inserts, silver plated crimp contacts, and cable glands are incorporated in the assemblies.

The control cable is finished in RAL7001 silver-grey polyurethane and conforms to DIN EN 50525-1 (VDE 0285-525-1) standards, with easily identifiable number coded cores clearly indicating core-contact termination within the connector housing. The cable is highly resistant to abrasion and tearing, and offers excellent bend radius characteristics.

Both the 6-way and 10-way versions are rated to 500 V according to IEC61984, with a current rating of 16 A.

The HARTING Han series cable assemblies are now shipping exclusively from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
