RS Components introduces powerful multifunction motor-drive analysers from Fluke

Analysers simplify AC drive troubleshooting and offer three test tools in one: motor-drive analyser, waveform analyser and recording datalogger

LONDON, UK, 15 January, 2019 – RS Components (http://uk.rs-online.com/web/) (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (http://www.electrocomponents.com/) (LSE:ECM), a global multi-channel distributor, has announced two motor-drive analysers from test and measurement maker Fluke that help safely locate and troubleshoot typical problems on inverter type motor-drive systems.

The MDA-510 and MDA-550 (https://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/?searchTerm=np-fluke-mda-1118_uk&searchType=Offers&dr=N) help engineers by saving time and enabling the quick set-up of complex measurements, and the simplification of the troubleshooting process via guided test set-ups and automated drive measurements. Users of these instruments can simply select a test, and then step-by-step guided measurements show users where to make voltage and current connections. Pre-set measurement profiles ensure the capture of data for each critical motor-drive section, including from input to output, on the DC bus, and the motor itself.

The MDA-510 guides users through this process of making measurements from the power inputs to the motor outputs of the drive, and offers specific information about different measurements and how to connect them up, along with diagrams showing the connections. The MDA-550 adds to these capabilities by enabling the measurement of harmonics around the fundamental frequency as well as in the higher range from 9kHz to 150kHz. It also includes shaft voltage measurement, probes and probe holder.

Offering four input channels for voltage and current signals, key features include: measurement of key motor-drive parameters including voltage, current, DC Bus voltage level, AC ripple, voltage and current unbalance, and voltage modulation; and measurement of additional electrical parameters via a full 500MHz bandwidth oscilloscope. Other features include quick and easy report creation for documenting troubleshooting and USB A and USB mini-B connectivity.

Shipping now at RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions, both instruments come with a three-year warranty.
