Fujitsu achieves high-precision, long-duration molecular dynamics simulation for all-solid-state battery interphases with over 100,000 atoms

KAWASAKI, Japan, Dec 1, 2025 – (JCN Newswire) – Fujitsu today announced the successful development of a technology for molecular dynamics (MD) simulation that enables atomic-level structural analysis of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) [1] formation process in all-solid-state batteries. This process, previously difficult to analyze, significantly impacts battery performance. Fujitsu achieved this breakthrough by developing a neural network potential (NNP) [2] training method using knowledge distillation [3], enabling stable, long-duration MD simulations. The newly developed technology can now rapidly and accurately reproduce the behavior of all-solid-state battery electrolyte membrane and electrode interface structures [4] with over 100,000 atoms for 10 nanoseconds, requiring only one week of computation.

Pusan National University Study Reveals a Shared Responsibility of Both Humans and AI in AI-Caused Harm

While artificial intelligence (AI) is designed to enhance the quality of our lives, there is an increase in AI-mediated harm. Since AI systems operate semi-autonomously, neither their developers nor users typically intend or foresee such harm. Thus, it seems absurd to hold AI systems and stakeholders responsible, giving rise to a responsibility gap. To address this gap, researchers have now developed new notions of responsibility tailored to cover unintended and unforeseen consequences caused by AI.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming an integral part of our everyday lives and with that emerges a pressing question: … Read More → "Pusan National University Study Reveals a Shared Responsibility of Both Humans and AI in AI-Caused Harm"
