New series of regulated high-voltage DC-DC converters from XP Power for Analytical, Semiconductor and Detector applications

May 6th, 2021 – XP Power today released the HRC05 series of 5W regulated high-voltage DC-DC converters that delivers a fully adjustable and reliable output voltage up to 6kVDC in a small package. Models in the series provide design engineers working on high voltage integration with a complete set of features as standard in one compact footprint. Key highlights include the low line and load regulation (<0.01%) and excellent ripple performance (<0.01%), providing accurate and reliable high voltage for long term applications. All models are approved to IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1, 61010-1 standards and are UKCA & CE marked to applicable directives & legislation for global use.

The input voltage of the HRC05 series is 24VDC nominal, with an operating range from 22VDC to 30VDC. It is available in 18 models with positive or negative DC outputs ranging from 0V to 350V up to 0V to 6000V. The output voltage can be adjusted from 0 to 100% with the onboard 0 to +5VDC reference input for easy high voltage integration and control. Voltage and current monitor outputs are also included in the standard package.

The PCB mount, convection-cooled units measure just 65mm x 33mm x 14mm (WxLxH); they are housed in a UL94V-0 rated encapsulation material and 5-sided metal case that is internally grounded, offering optimal mechanical integration and robustness into the overall system and space saving. The operating temperature range of the HRC05 series is -40°C to +70°C with no current derating over the range. Stability is 100ppm over 8 hours (after a 30-minute warm-up).

The HRC05 series features short circuit, arc, overload, and over-temperature protection circuitry and remote on/off to ensure the safety of both the device and the application in which it is installed. Key applications include mass spectrometry, electrophoresis, electrostatic chuck, detectors, capacitor charging, scanning electron microscopes (SEMs), imaging, and diagnostics equipment.

The HRC05 series is available from Digi-Key, Farnell, Mouser, RS Components, approved regional distributors, or direct from XP Power, and comes with a 3-year warranty.
