Mouser Electronics Now Stocking Maxim MAX5995B PMIC for 802.3af/at/bt Power over Ethernet

February 6, 2019 – Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking MAX5995B power management IC (PMIC) from Maxim Integrated. The small PMIC provides a complete interface for powered device (PD) to comply with the IEEE 802.3af/at/bt standard in a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) system.

Maxim’s MAX5995B PMIC, available from Mouser, provides the PD with a detection signature, classification signature, and an integrated isolation power switch with startup inrush current control. The IC supports a multi-event classification method as specified in the IEEE 802.3bt standard, and provides a signal to indicate from Type 1 to Type 4 Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE). The MAX5995B PMIC also provides a Power-Good (PG) signal, two-step current limit and foldback control, and over temperature protection.

The device features an Intelligent Maintain Power Signature (MPS) function, ultra-low-power sleep mode, an input undervoltage lockout with wide hysteresis, and long de-glitch time to compensate for twisted pair cable resistive drop and to assure glitch-free transition during power-on/-off conditions.

The MAX5995B PMIC is available in a 16-pin, 5 mm × 5 mm TQFN power package with an operating temperature range of minus 40 to 85 degrees Celsius. The PMIC is ideal for VOIP phones, IP security cameras, wireless access points, small cell and picocell base stations, lighting, and building automation.
