Lantronix xPico 200 Series Wi-Fi IoT Gateways Achieve WPA3 Enterprise and Personal Certification

New features simplify and strengthen Wi-Fi security, enable more robust authentication and deliver increased cryptographic strength for highly sensitive data

IRVINE, Calif., March 24, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Lantronix Inc. (NASDAQ: LTRX), a global provider of secure turnkey solutions for the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) and Intelligent IT market, today announced that its xPico 270xPico 250 and xPico 240 embedded Wi-Fi® IoT gateways have achieved WPA3™ Certification for WPA3-Enterprise and WPA3-Personal by the Wi-Fi Alliance.

Delivering seamless and secure Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® connectivity, Lantronix xPico 200 Series gateways enable OEMs to build and deploy smart connected products with reduced complexity and lower risk. Designed to increase resiliency in mission-critical network applications, the new WPA3 features simplify and strengthen Wi-Fi security, enable more robust authentication and deliver increased cryptographic strength for highly sensitive data for both enterprise and personal use.

“We are proud that Lantronix’s xPico 200 Series gateways have met the demanding criteria to attain WPA3 Certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance,” said Fathi Hakam, VP of Engineering at Lantronix. “To gain this respected designation, the gateways underwent rigorous testing in a variety of configurations by independent, authorized test laboratories.”

According to a recent study by HMS Networks, Industrial Ethernet now makes up 65 percent of the global market of newly installed nodes in Factory Automation. In addition, wireless continues to grow rapidly at a rate of 24 percent, outpacing both fieldbus and Industrial Ethernet. “Industrial network connectivity for factory devices and machines is key to obtaining smart and sustainable manufacturing, and this is the main driver for the growth we see in the industrial networking market,” said Anders Hansson, Chief Marketing Officer at HMS Networks.

With industrial-grade design for operation in extreme environments, the xPico gateways feature automatic network connection management. Compatible with Lantronix ConsoleFlow™ cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, users gain centralized management, allowing them to view and manage globally distributed assets through a single pane of glass from virtually anywhere.

Ideal for use in a variety of applications, including industrial automation, medical devices, responsive retail and resource management, Lantronix xPico 200 Series features the xPico 270 Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), xPico 250 dual-band Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n) and the xPico 240 dual-band Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n) and Ethernet. The modules also provide a robust selection of other connectivity options for IoT applications, including Bluetooth/Bluetooth LE, Ethernet MAC, USB 2.0, UART, SPI and GPIO.
