Crowcon Detection Instruments Selects NevadaNano’s MPS™ Sensors To Drive The Next Generation Of Fixed Gas Detectors

Fixed detector with Molecular Property Spectrometer™ technology, Xgard Bright, quickly detects multiple flammable gases simultaneously and accurately reports TrueLEL™.

CHESTER, ENGLAND, December 7, 2020 NevadaNano Inc., the world’s leading innovator in gas detection sensor technology, announced that Crowcon Detection Instruments Ltd., selected its Molecular Property Spectrometer (MPS) sensor for its Xgard Bright fixed gas detector. As one of the world’s first fixed detectors with MPS, Xgard Bright is expected to set new standards in gas detection and safety, while driving down the total cost of ownership.

“The MPS sensor has features such as long life, no calibration, no poisoning and gas classification that deliver improved detection capabilities and performance as well as reducing the burden of calibration and maintenance activities for sectors that find other sensors costly and prone to failure,” said Will Allum, product manager for fixed systems at Crowcon. “The Xgard Bright’s MPS sensor ushers in the next generation of flammable gas detection for green energy (H2), wastewater treatment, automotive paints and solvents, and industrial environments where multiple flammable gas hazards may occur.”

NevadaNano’s MPS sensors are the first innovation in flammable gas detectors in 40 years and apply the latest micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) technologies to deliver unparalleled results. Currently, MPS sensors can detect up to 15 flammable gases using real time measurements. Because the Xgard Bright with the MPS sensor is precise, with no drift over time, and does not require a correction factor, it swiftly, clearly and accurately reports how close the ambient gas levels are to the lower explosive limit (LEL).

“We are excited to work with Crowcon to bring our ground-breaking MPS sensor technology to their versatile Xgard Bright fixed gas detector,” said Gary Collins, General Manager EMEA at NevadaNano Inc. “We share Crowcon’s commitment to continuous innovation that creates safer, cleaner, and healthier workplaces, protects the environment and valuable infrastructure while improving operational efficiency.”

About NevadaNano

NevadaNano’s patented Molecular Property Spectrometer™ (MPS) is the only technology available that measures and classifies a wide range of combustible gases and reports the potential to cause harm virtually instantaneously. It is the first new gas sensing technology to emerge in more than three decades and helps businesses create safer work, home and industrial environments. NevadaNano focuses on commercial applications, specifically, monitoring for flammable gas, new refrigerant leaks, methane leaks and indoor air quality. All of these applications are often tied together as part of IoT-enabled distributed gas sensing systems. The company technology is used in a diverse array of commercial and government applications by its system integrator partners and manufacturers.
