Connective Peripherals products now available from Newark

Customers can simplify system debug and equipment maintenance with Connective Peripherals’ comprehensive range of simple and reliable products offering USB connectivity.

Chicago – August 17, 2021: Newark, an Avnet Company and global distributor of electronic components, products, and solutions, has today announced a new global distribution agreement with Connective Peripherals that will enhance its range of market-leading connectivity products for customers. Connective Peripherals products simplify system debug and maintenance of equipment featuring serial ports by providing simple and reliable USB connectivity.

The addition of Connective Peripherals expands Newark’s existing portfolio of products for field and lab-based engineers in a wide variety of applications where it is necessary to connect to instruments or systems via serial ports to carry out field-based configuration, upgrades and maintenance. The product range enables modern PCs and laptops to use a USB Type C port to connect directly to legacy serial interfaces such as RS232/RS422/RS485, CANbus, SPI, I2C, or JTAG. All adaptors and cables feature built-in electronics, making it easy to connect to any equipment. The cables are also available with connectors, bare ends or single-pole female receptacles, enabling use with systems that offer D-type connectors, header connectors or which require wires to be soldered to the board.

The range of connectivity solutions from Connective Peripherals now in stock at Newark includes:

  • The ES-U-1001 family of full-speed USB to RS232 adaptors is ideal for a wide variety of equipment with serial management and debug ports. Powered from a USB port, the adaptors provide a single RS232 port on DB9 connector with easy plug and play installation. Data transfer rates are from 300 baud to 250 Kbaud at RS232 voltage levels with 512 byte receive and transmit buffers utilising buffer smoothing technology to allow for high data throughput.
  • USB Type C High Speed MPSSE provides a fast, simple way to connect devices with 3.3 Volt digital interfaces to USB-C. It includes an MPSSE serial engine which enables it to emulate synchronous serial protocols such as SPI, I2C and JTAG. The end of the 0.5m cable has 10 single-pole female receptacles to provide access to the ADbus lines which are used for the SPI / I2C / JTAG signals, as well as GND and VCC.
  • The USB2-F-7×01 Full Speed USB to 1-Port CANBus Adapter provides a simple method of adapting CANbus devices to USB. Each USB2-F-7×01 contains a small internal electronic circuit board mounted inside of a plastic case capable of withstanding industrial temperature ranges. Flexible mounting options and indicator LEDs to communicate functional status ensure its use in a range of applications, from a portable adapter to accompany a laptop through to permanent installations in industrial and commercial environments.

Lee Turner, Global Head of Semiconductors and Single Board Computing at Newark said: “Connective Peripherals is an important addition to Newark’s connectivity portfolio. Their broad range of simple to use adapter boards and cables is suitable for a range of industries and applications, delivering connectivity between USB and serial interfaces. Connective Peripherals’ specialist range of adapter boards can extend existing product lifetimes and speed up new designs, enabling our customers to bring new products to market much faster.”

Headquartered in Singapore, Connective Peripherals is a supplier of communications and instrumentation products, with expertise in serial connectivity solutions. The company’s products encompass adapter boards and cables delivering connectivity between USB and serial interfaces, plus award-winning USB based oscilloscopes, data loggers and logic analysers.

Newark offers a full range of products to support electronic design and test and available for delivery from stock, with no minimum order value and an educational discount programme. Customers have free access to online resources, data sheets, applications notes, videos and webinars with excellent customer and technical support available 24/5 in local language.

Connective Peripherals products are now available for fast delivery from Newark in North America, Farnell in EMEA and element14 in APAC.
