CAN-LIN SBC Click from MIKROE provides high-speed communication over both CAN and LIN for automotive and industrial systems

Integrate CAN (Controller Area Network) and LIN (Local Interconnect Network) dual-interface support with advanced power management

December 2025: CAN-LIN SBC Click is a new communication interface Click board™ from MIKROE, the embedded solutions company that dramatically cuts development time by providing innovative hardware and software products based on proven standards. The compact Click add-on boards enable developers to rapidly provide proof-of-concept, then prototype and code new embedded projects. CAN-LIN SBC Click provides high-speed communication over both Controller Area Network (CAN) and Local Interconnect Network (LIN) interfaces, ensuring robust, dual-protocol connectivity between automotive and industrial subsystems.

Comments Nebojsa Matic, CEO of MIKROE: “This new Click board is ideal for automotive body electronics, industrial automation, and other embedded systems that require simultaneous dual-protocol CAN and LIN communication with advanced power management and fault protection. It is part of our 180+ strong family of interface Click boards and over 850 projects – with working code – featuring the CAN-LIN SBC Click can be found on MIKROE’s embedded projects platform, EmbeddedWiki.”

CAN-LIN SBC Click is based on the ATA6586, a System Basis Chip (SBC) from Microchip that integrates a high-speed CAN transceiver compliant with ISO 11898-2:2016 supporting up to 5 Mbit/s (CAN FD) and a LIN transceiver compliant with LIN 2.2A, ISO 17987-4, and SAEJ2602-2 standards. It supports Partial Networking, low-power operation with local and remote wake-up, bus biasing, diagnostic and protection features, and robust EMC/ESD performance for reliable operation in harsh environments.

CAN-LIN SBC Click is a recent addition to MIKROE’s 1900-strong mikroBUS™-enabled Click board family. The board also features the ClickID function which enables automatic identification by the host system, simplifying use. Devices can be used on any host system supporting the mikroBUS™ standard, and come with the mikroSDK open-source libraries, offering excellent flexibility for evaluation and customization.
