Aricent Collaborates with Amazon Web Services to Develop Intelligent IoT-based Asset Monitoring

The IoT-enabled asset management solution is a core use case to drive growth by leveraging device data monitoring and mining for a wide spectrum of industries

SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Aricent, a global design and engineering company, today announced a new collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver an intelligent asset monitoring solution, which is part of the Aricent Internet of Things (IoT) Offerings portfolio. Aricent Asset Monitoring is a versatile solution that works with AWS IoT Analytics to allow enterprises to monitor, manage, and analyze data from IoT sensor enabled equipment. These include wind turbines, generators, transformers, solar panels, and oil pipelines grids and a wide variety of IoT connected Industrial equipment. It can also be customized for a variety of markets including manufacturing, retail, oil and gas, utility and smart infrastructure – essentially any industry deploying IoT technology and equipment.

Use cases for IoT-based asset monitoring include factory and process automation, predictive maintenance, data analytics, as well as Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality applications for Industrial IoT (IIoT). Aricent developed the new framework based on deep domain expertise in IoT sensor enabled smart energy, power generation and distribution, as well as the company’s ongoing work in its IoT Center of Excellence (CoE), with several top tier smart energy companies.

The Aricent IoT Asset Monitoring solution allows innovative companies to fully leverage valuable, real-time device data insights to improve operational efficiency and secure a wealth of new business opportunities. According to IDC, smart home investments are expected to more than double, reaching more than $63 billion by 2020.

“IoT-enabled meters, power generation equipment, and distribution grid components, produce huge volumes of data that delivers a wealth of information for utility companies,” said Harmeet Chauhan, President, Software and Internet at Aricent. “They require reliable solutions to securely transport data from their equipment and powerful analytics platforms to garner insights.”

“Our IoT solutions have already been deployed by a number of clients. Device data analytics is the key to unlocking meaningful insights from the data collected from IoT sensors. AWS IoT Analytics helps us to strengthen the reliability and accuracy of that data,” he concluded.
