Airmar Introduces Next-Generation 300WX WeatherStation® Instruments for 2026

Airmar Technology Corporation announced the next generation of its WeatherStation® instruments, introducing the 300WX product line for 2026. The new lineup includes two models—the 300WX and the 300WX-IP67—featuring expanded communication protocols, improved wind speed accuracy, and wireless connectivity to Airmar’s CAST™ mobile application, making them even more adaptable to agriculture, defense and industrial environments.

300WX models now include J1939 and ISOBUS output protocols, expanding compatibility with systems used in agriculture, heavy machinery, and industrial applications. Each instrument automatically detects J1939 baud rates and seamlessly switches between 250 kbps and 500 kbps.

The 300WX instruments also include Bluetooth® wireless connectivity to Airmar’s CAST™ app at distances up to 100 meters (330’), allowing users to configure sensors and outputs directly from a mobile device. The app also supports wireless firmware updates and provides customizable data display layouts in digital, graphical, or hybrid formats.

Like previous WeatherStation® generations, the 300WX instruments deliver accurate, reliable weather data in a rugged, compact, maintenance-free design with no moving parts. The all-in-one multisensors measure real-time apparent wind speed and direction, air temperature and calculated wind chill, barometric pressure, relative humidity (300WX only), and calculated dew point and heat index. Wind speed accuracy has been improved to 1.5 knots RMS at 20 knots to support more precise measurements in demanding conditions. Data output also enables the calculation of Delta T/wet bulb temperature- an important agriculture/irrigation data point to know regarding the evaporation rate from plants and leaves. 300WX delivers accurate, on-machine weather inputs that OEM sprayer systems use to reduce drift risk and improve application performance.

Airmar WeatherStation® instruments also provide Speed Over Ground (SOG), Course Over Ground (COG), pitch and roll, rate of turn, and position. An integrated three-axis compass, three-axis rate gyro, and GNSS enable the calculation of Dynamic True Wind speed and direction from mobile platforms. Dynamic True Wind is determined by removing the wind value caused by the vehicle’s own movement from the measured apparent wind, leaving the actual True wind speed and direction. The 300WX line features improved housings, designed to protect against water ingress, even at highway speeds.

New Models:

300WX WeatherStation® Instrument (with Relative Humidity)

The sensor-rich 300WX is designed for both mobile and stationary weather monitoring applications. It features a rugged, IPX64-rated housing and is suited for dynamic platforms such as agricultural equipment, weather-monitoring vehicles, and military vehicles. It is also suitable for deployable weather monitoring stations.

300WX-IP67 WeatherStation® Instrument (no Relative Humidity)

The 300WX-IP67 is designed for offshore and industrial environments requiring enhanced protection from dust and water ingress. The housing is IP67-rated and built for harsh marine conditions as well as dusty installations on agricultural vehicles or construction sites. Relative humidity sensing is not available on this model.

New Features of the 300WX WeatherStation Instruments:

  • Added communication protocols: J1939 and ISOBUS
  • Enhanced wind speed accuracy: 1.5 knots RMS at 20 knots
  • Bluetooth® wireless connectivity for use with Airmar’s CAST™ app to view data, configure sensors, and perform firmware updates
  • Automatic baud rate detection for J1939 and ISOBUS (250 kbps / 500 kbps)

Product Transition

The 300WX WeatherStation® models will be available in Q2 2026 and are intended to replace the 200WX WeatherStation® instruments (200WX and 200WX-IPX7). The transition is planned to be completed by June1, 2026. Customers are encouraged to contact their Airmar sales representative to discuss transition planning.
