Inaugural Women in Drones Event at InterDrone a Huge Success

MELVILLE, N.Y., Sept. 29, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — BZ Media LLC announced today the success of its Women in Drones Luncheon, a special networking event at InterDrone(TM) The International Drone Conference & Exposition held on September 10 at The Rio in Las Vegas. Lisa Ellman, Partner and Global UAS Group Chair at Hogan Lovells, led the event, which brought together more than 50 leading women in the commercial drone industry to discuss challenges and triumphs faced by women in the predominantly male industry.

Ellman was joined by a stellar panel lineup, which included Karen DiMeo, UAS R&D Technical Lead at the FAA; Sally French, journalist at the Wall Street Journal, and blogger at TheDroneGirl.com; Dyan Gibbens, CEO of Trumbull Unmanned and Unmanned Cowboys, and Gretchen West of UAVUS and Hogan Lovells.

“It was an honor to be part of the distinguished panel and in a room full of leaders at the InterDrone Women in Drones event. This event demonstrated that there is room for everyone’s vision, interests and talents as the full potential of this emerging technology takes shape,” DiMeo said.

West added: “This first Women in Drones event was a great way to bring women together from various backgrounds to have an open discussion about both challenges and opportunities in the growing market and business of drones. Since the event, I’ve come across many more women that want to get involved in this groundswell and I look forward to continuing and being part of the conversation.”

The event included candid discussions about being a woman in the commercial drone industry as well as the impact women are making on the industry as a whole.

“The energy in a room full of women interested in how drones can be used was truly incredible. I applaud InterDrone for bringing the women in drones together. It’s refreshing to see such a diverse group of women embracing a new technology, and I’m confident next year’s luncheon will be twice as big as it was this year,” French said.

“It’s a testament to the power, energy and connectedness of the UAS community that InterDrone’s inaugural year was such a huge success,” Ellman said.

In addition to the luncheon, InterDrone, which boasts over 3,000 attendees, featured more than 100 classes, panels and keynotes in all, including a Grand Keynote from Chris Anderson, New York Times best-selling author, CEO of 3D Robotics, and founder of DIY Drones.

Registration for the next InterDrone, Sept. 7-9 at the Paris hotel in Las Vegas, will open soon at www.InterDrone.com.

Quickly and accurately identify inter-domain leakage issues in IC designs

Sponsored by Siemens Digital Industries Software

Power domain leakage is a major IC reliability issue, often missed by traditional tools. This white paper describes challenges of identifying leakage, types of false results, and presents Siemens EDA’s Insight Analyzer. The tool proactively finds true leakage paths, filters out false positives, and helps circuit designers quickly fix risks—enabling more robust, reliable chip designs. With detailed, context-aware analysis, designers save time and improve silicon quality.
