STMicroelectronics Keynotes on the Next MEMS Wave at MIG Conference Asia

Shanghai, China, September 2, 2015 – STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, a top MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) manufacturer and the world’s leading supplier of MEMS for consumer and mobile applications, today announced that Benedetto Vigna, Executive Vice President and General Manager of ST’s Analog, MEMS and Sensors Group, will deliver a keynote at the MEMS Industry Group (MIG) Conference Asia in Shanghai, China.

Held in partnership with the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology (SIMIT) and the Shanghai Industrial Technology Research (SITRI), the four-day event combines a two-day conference focused on the challenges and opportunities for MEMS and Sensors in the Internet of Things (IoT) with exclusive tours of top R&D labs and commercial companies.

At the conference, Vigna, who earlier this year was presented with an award from the IEEE for his role in the development and commercialization of MEMS, will share his view on the trending technologies and applications that herald the next wave of MEMS sensor and micro-actuator development.

With almost 10 billion MEMS devices shipped to date, ST is a leading force in the MEMS and Sensors industry evolution, driving continuous innovation for sensor and micro-actuator applications with its broad product and technology portfolio, reliable supplier chain, and a strong ecosystem of global and local partners.

MIG Conference Asia will be held at the Renaissance Shanghai ZhongShan Park, Shanghai, China, on September 8 – 11, 2015.
