Fully compatible wireless access point with IEEE 802.11n technology

Brighton, UK, 5th August 2015 – Amplicon introduces the new AWK-1131A wireless access point, capable of achieving an amazing 300Mbps utilising IEEE 802.11n technology.

Modern industrial automation applications that are in need of increased productivity and competitiveness make wireless communication an essential requirement

The AWK-1131A is an industrial wireless access point and client that meets the growing demand for faster data transmission speeds by incorporating IEEE 802.11n technology. The AWK-1131A can achieve a net data rate of up to 300 Mbps and can operate on either the 2.4 or 5 GHz band.

The AWK-1131A is backwards compatible with IEE 802.11a/b/g, making this an ideal solution for any wireless application, whilst still providing full interoperability with existing wireless equipment.

The 802.11n and Gigabit connectivity of the AWK-1131A give industrial networks the fast reliable wired and wireless integration they need to combat the high electrostatic discharge (ESD) and current surges that are commonly found in industrial environments. In addition, the AWK-1131A has millisecond-level roaming capability and minimises packet loss for seamless WLAN connectivity.

As the first of the AWK series that has integrated galvanic isolation technology on all interfaces, the AWK-1131A is particularly well suited for mobile control and monitoring applications in complex industrial environments. Coupled with MIMO technology, the AWK-1131A reduces multipath effects, and provides excellent noise avoidance and better longevity for industrial wireless connections.

Andrew Pook, Data Communications Product Specialist at Amplicon commented: “With up to 300Mbps bandwidth incorporated with a high level of electrical immunity, engineers now have a serious alternative to hard wiring devices in their industrial applications.”
