Ideal Power – the “Design Engineer Friendly” source for External Power Supplies

Most standard products are available from our extensive stockholding and Ideal Power’s UK based IP Support Engineering Team are happy to assist design engineers with modified-standard and full custom designs encompassing alternative input and output voltages and current, frequency range, power consumption, output voltage regulation, ripple and noise characteristics, efficiency and alternative plug-types for specific regions. At Ideal Power the customer’s needs are paramount to such an extent that requirements for bespoke products from 100 pieces upwards can be catered for.

The External Interchangeable Power Supply range from Ideal Power further improves the versatility of external PSUs by allowing multifunctional use as either a plug-top or a desk-top power supply in one unit and features an interchangeable plug-top allowing end users to select the correct AC plug type for the country it is to be used in. The ability to convert between a plug-top and desk-top power supply allows the same product to operate in difficult locations, where under-floor or gangway sockets prevent traditional plug-tops from being used.

To complete their range of external power supply products Ideal Power also offers an 8-way set of DC connectors enabling the polarity of the DC output to be changed by adding an adapter which allows the PSU to be used in both centre positive or centre negative configuration.
