Solarflare Leverages ANSYS Power Solutions for Application-Intelligent 10/40 Gigabit Ethernet Product Development

PITTSBURGH – December 2, 2014 – To ensure its industry-leading products meet their customers’ rigorous power and reliability requirements for markets as varied as electronic trading and content delivery networks, Solarflare depends on ANSYS (NASDAQ: ANSS) for integrated circuit power and reliability sign-off solutions.

With increased reliance on high performance computing, cloud enterprises, virtualization and big data, companies around the world must have access to advanced networking solutions that meet their high-demand computing requirements. As a leading provider of application-intelligent networking I/O software and hardware that accelerate, monitor and secure network data, Solarflare leverages ANSYS? RedHawk to ensure delivery of the most robust 10/40 Gigabit Ethernet networking products used in scale-out compute environments.

In addition to performance and accuracy, reliability is critical to the success of Solarflare’s high performance, low-latency networking products. Solarflare takes advantage of RedHawk for the development of sub-systems – including its latest networking processor chips fabricated in advanced technology nodes – to meet power noise and reliability requirements.

“In the highly competitive markets we serve, we must continue to deliver solutions that provide world-class performance and reliability. RedHawk is a production-proven sign-off solution that helps us meet the power noise and reliability requirements of our more than 1,200 customers worldwide,” said Raed Moughabghab, vice president of VLSI Engineering at Solarflare. “The tools’ track record of successful silicon tape-out – plus the responsive, innovation-driven engineering and support teams at ANSYS – led us to deploy RedHawk in our production flow.”

“Because these systems are supporting mission-critical capabilities, failing in the field is not an option,” said Fares Mubarak, ANSYS vice president and general manager. “Our commitment to best-in-class organizations like Solarflare is to deliver the most accurate power noise reliability sign-off solutions.”
