Avnet Embedded Boosts Storage Offering in Americas with EchoStreams Innovative Solutions

PHOENIX—September 22, 2014—Avnet Embedded, a division of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), today announced that it has entered into a distribution agreement with EchoStreams Innovative Solutions, LLC, a provider of specialized server and storage solutions. Avnet Embedded can now offer customers in the Americas purpose-built server and storage platforms to meet their custom digital content generation, delivery, presentation and archiving needs at off-the-shelf prices.

“EchoStreams takes conventional off-the-shelf components and packages them to meet the different usage models of various vertical markets,” said John Salemme, vice president and general manager of Avnet Embedded. “These unique purpose-built platforms enable our mutual customers with limited IT infrastructure resources to leverage the economy of scale of mass-produced components, while enjoying the benefits of a highly flexible or customized solution.”

Among EchoStreams’ trademarked solutions are the DURAStreams™ high performance, high availability platforms; FLACHEStreams™ products to accelerate high performance computing and data center content delivery network applications; and GRIDStreams™ and SCALEStreams™ purpose-built scale-out compute and storage solutions, providing the platform for OEMs to build the next-generation data centers for the cloud. Target end user applications include cloud-integrated storage, VDI-redundant servers, software-defined storage, cloud DVR, video archive, media streaming, online transactional database storage, and both object and cold storage.
