Dedicated Computing Delivers Leading-edge, High Performance, Power-Efficient Reference Designs

WAUKESHA, Wis., Aug. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Dedicated Computing announced the release of several new embedded computers based on 4th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors.   Dedicated Computing’s reference design for Intel processor-based technology provides a full range of products that are fully qualified to meet specific requirements of imaging, modeling, visualization and simulation applications.

Examples of these solutions include the Edge Series™ 7342, a short depth 4U platform that is flexible enough to support high end graphics applications, high density storage use cases, or a wide variety of demanding I/O requirements.   The Edge Series™ 7203 is a small, high performing embedded computer that also utilizes the 4th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors and is well suited as a control processing node for a variety of lab diagnostic and industrial automation applications.  Additionally the Edge Series™ are fully equipped with intelligent system monitoring capabilities that ensure system uptime, thereby lowering service costs and reducing total cost of ownership.

“Leveraging the latest Intel chip technology allows us to offer higher performance at improved energy efficiency and a lower thermal profile,” said Bilal Khan, Chief Technology Officer, Dedicated Computing. “That creates greater flexibility to meet the needs of higher compute densities in increasingly smaller form factors used in variety of applications.”

Dedicated Computing is able to provide solutions that not only help their customer’s meet their current goals but also meet future needs by staying ahead of technology trends,” said Jim Robinson, General Manager, Internet of Things Segments and Broad Market Division at Intel. “Utilizing Intel’s 4th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors to reduce power and enhance security, Dedicated Computing is already designing solutions for the next generation of devices.”

These single-socket, long-life platforms include a variety of small form factors, as well as mid-tower and rack mounted solutions. Additionally the various platforms possess robust, ruggedized capabilities that allow them to be used in more challenging environments when needed.  All of the newly introduced platforms boast minimum life cycles of 5 years.
