Vector Software Announces Integration with PTC Integrity™

Providence, RI – 7/29/2014 – Vector Software, the world’s leading provider of innovative software solutions for testing safety and mission critical embedded applications, announced today that the VectorCAST™ software test environment now offers an integration with the PTC Integrity™ application lifecycle management (ALM) platform. As a result, software developers can easily integrate the VectorCAST test results of their embedded software applications into one seamless environment that manages the end-to-end processes of development. This includes requirements management, engineering change management, revision control, build management, test management, and software release, including the associated reports and metrics.

Using the VectorCAST Requirements Gateway (VectorCAST/RGW), engineers can import software requirements and associate them with VectorCAST test cases, including pass/fail results. This mapping can then be pushed back to PTC Integrity for complete traceability. Through a simple and intuitive interface, developers can quickly and easily link requirements to VectorCAST test cases.

The PTC Integrity solution is built around a single platform that supports traceability, process automation and reporting, and analytics. By integrating the VectorCAST test tool into this environment, developers can expand these design capabilities with a robust software testing solution integrated into their ALM environment. A powerful feature of this integration is that both the VectorCAST and PTC Integrity tools are certified by TÜV SÜD for developing ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 safety-critical systems. This enables engineers to both qualify the tool chain, and test the code developed for safety-critical applications, including the most stringent ASIL-D or SIL3 levels of safety function, as defined by the standards.

“Integrating software test tools into an end-to-end ALM tool chain offers an extremely powerful design environment for embedded software development,” said John Paliotta, Chief Technology Officer, Vector Software. “This integration of VectorCAST with the PTC Integrity platform enables software developers to easily test and verify their code in one single, seamless development environment.”

“The ability to easily link test cases to the lifecycle artifacts managed in PTC Integrity supports our customers’ goal of comprehensive traceability that enables safety-critical software development,” said Ryan Lloyd , Director of Product Management, PTC. “By offering integration with the robust VectorCAST software test solution, PTC Integrity solidifies its reputation as a leading and open ALM platform for engineering safety-critical software systems.”
