INSIDE Secure Selects Berkeley Design Automation Analog FastSPICE™ Platform for Security Applications IP

SANTA CLARA, CA, — January 28, 2014— Berkeley Design Automation, Inc., provider of the world’s fastest nanometer circuit verification, today announced that INSIDE Secure (NYSE Euronext Paris: INSD), a leader in embedded security solutions for mobile and connected devices has selected the Analog FastSPICE (AFS) Platform for verification of semiconductor IP for security applications.

“Our security IP for SoC and ASIC applications has stringent circuit verification requirements,” said Dr. Dimitrios Karayiannis, Executive VP of Research & Development at INSIDE Secure. “We selected the AFS Platform because it fully addresses our requirements for circuit verification accuracy, performance, and capacity. The AFS Platform provides nanometer SPICE accuracy 5x to 10x faster than traditional SPICE on a single core and >2x faster than parallel SPICE for custom circuits in our security IP products.”

The Analog FastSPICE Platform provides the world’s fastest circuit verification for nanometer analog, RF, mixed-signal, memory, and custom digital circuits. Foundry certified to 20nm, the AFS Platform delivers nanometer SPICE accuracy 5x-10x faster than traditional SPICE and 2x-6x faster than parallel SPICE simulators. For large circuits the AFS Platform delivers >10M-element capacity and the fastest mixed-signal simulation. For memory and other array-based circuits, AFS Mega™ delivers silicon-accurate simulation with >100M element capacity. For silicon-accurate characterization it includes the industry’s only comprehensive full-spectrum device noise analysis and a high-productivity Analog Characterization Environment (ACE™)—both of which deliver 5x-10x speedup over alternative approaches. Available licenses for the AFS Platform include AFS Circuit Simulator, AFS Mega, AFS Nano, AFS Transient Noise Analysis, AFS RF Analyses, AFS Co-Simulation, AFS AMS, and ACE.

“We are very pleased that INSIDE Secure has selected the Analog FastSPICE Platform for verification of their semiconductor IP for security applications,” said Ravi Subramanian, President and CEO of Berkeley Design Automation. “INSIDE Secure’s selection further validates the value of Berkeley Design Automation as an essential partner for the leading IP suppliers to the semiconductor industry.”
