Semtech’s PCI Express® 3.0 PHY IP Platform is Fully Compliant and Included on PCI-SIG® Integrators List

CAMARILLO, Calif., January 15, 2014 — Semtech Corporation (Nasdaq: SMTC), a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, today announced its PCI Express® (PCIe®) 3.0 PHY IP, part of the Snowbush® IP platform, successfully completed the rigorous testing of the PCI-SIG® and is now on the PCIe 3.0 Integrators List.

The PCI-SIG integrators list maintains the gold standard by which companies developing PCI™ products make IP purchasing decisions.

PCI-SIG Compliance Workshop testing includes electrical, configuration and protocol testing against the PCI-SIG PCIe 3.0 golden test suites as well as interoperability testing with PCIe 3.0 products available in the market today. The Snowbush IP PHY passed all the golden test suites, which include electrical testing of the PHY’s receiver operation and jitter tolerance, transmit equalization procedure, transmit de-emphasis and PLL loop bandwidth testing. Additionally, the Snowbush IP achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the interoperability testing portion of the workshop.

“We’re pleased Semtech’s Snowbush PHY IP has passed PCIe 3.0 compliance testing,” said Al Yanes, PCI-SIG President and Chairman. “As a member of the PCI-SIG and a silicon IP supplier, Semtech produces PCIe 3.0-compliant products that help ensure the continued success of the PCIe 3.0 specification.”

“Performing the tests necessary to be included on the PCI-SIG Integrators List is another step in our long and continued support of the PCI Express 3.0 specification,” said Kevin Walsh, Worldwide Marketing Director, Snowbush IP. “Semtech continues to work with its leading customers to provide a robust and proven silicon PHY that they can confidently put into their products that require PCI Express 3.0 technology.”

Quickly and accurately identify inter-domain leakage issues in IC designs

Sponsored by Siemens Digital Industries Software

Power domain leakage is a major IC reliability issue, often missed by traditional tools. This white paper describes challenges of identifying leakage, types of false results, and presents Siemens EDA’s Insight Analyzer. The tool proactively finds true leakage paths, filters out false positives, and helps circuit designers quickly fix risks—enabling more robust, reliable chip designs. With detailed, context-aware analysis, designers save time and improve silicon quality.
